Livingston Manor Renaissance

Wondering how

to get involved?

Each year, one of our volunteers (who has completed the Master Gardener Volunteer training) creates a flower plan for Main Street. She “does the math”

and calculates how many flowers

are needed to fill 31 cedar planter

boxes, 13 window boxes, 5 raised

beds, and 8 garden corners.

She chooses flowers carefully,

taking into consideration the

mature size, sustainability,

and color impact of the flowers.

Since 2020 there has been no judging

of Renaissance projects and no

prize money has been awarded.

2019 Livingston Manor won first place in the

Community Beautification category. The judges

noted the “continuous flow of color”

on Main Street and that garden maintenance

was  “well demonstrated.”  They noted that

home owners and business owners have joined

in - creating beautiful gardens, planters and

hanging baskets on their properties. The

participation of the LMCS Class of 2023 on

Help Day and the H.S. art class’s contributions

to our fund raising efforts were praised.

In 2018 Livingston Manor won third place in the Community Beautification category.

The judges commented, “Congratulations on a wonderful display of gardens and baskets.

Great volunteer spirit and organization.”
